I made this book from January to February in 2023, having just moved back to London as an 'independent adult'. Like most poor Londoners, I began reading the metro in a vain attempt to escape the claustrophobic chasms of the tube. It is the biggest free newspaper in the world with 3 million copies distributed around 50 cities in the UK before the population has had a chance to flutter their eyelashes.

Every day I picked up the Metro, read it, took it home and stewed over its contents till its true story emerged. With the help of a pair of scissors and glue, I was a professional journalist. This carried on for a few weeks until I opened the last page of this book the day the metro got redesigned. Out with the traditionally misunderstood, in with the Love Island, Gen Z, attention seeker. The constant creature comfort gentrified in pursuit of the city it lives in. I looked up to see others’ reactions; no one lifted a finger from their phone. I couldn't leave home for 2 weeks.

Each double-page spread only contains clipings from that day’s paper. The cover contains at least one item from each day
